Amman, Jordan, 7 June 2010: The 77 delegates from 17 countries and territories attending the sixth camp for Generations For Peace, the HRH Prince Feisal Al-Hussein-led global organisation, took a break from their intensive 10-day camp yesterday to visit Petra.

The leaders of youth, who hail from a variety of backgrounds but have come together with the common goal of working towards a long-lasting peace within their communities, have been in Amman, Jordan, for the past week to learn new techniques in how sport can play its part in conflict resolution.

The unique Generations For Peace curriculum combines interactive classroom sessions led by international facilitators and experts in conflict resolution with practical sporting sessions conducted by professional sports coaches.

Created by Prince Feisal in 2007, the International Olympic Committee member and President of the Jordan Olympic Committee, Generations For Peace has put nearly 500 leaders of youth from 39 countries and territories through the six international camps to date and their work after returning home has resulted in more than 2,500 leaders of youth engaging with 45,000 young people.
