HH Sheikh Hamdan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Head of the Red Crescent Society, Chairman of Al Jazira Club and a great humanitarian became the first Founding Partner of Generations For Peace in June 2008. This was announced during SportAccord and the General Association of International Sport Federations (GAISF) General Assembly in Athens.
Under the patronage of HH Sheikh Hamdan, for the first time a camp was staged outside of Jordan when Abu Dhabi Camp 09 welcomed 70 delegates from Bangladesh, India, Lebanon, Nigeria, Oman, Pakistan, Somalia, Yemen and United Arab Emirates.
